Come show your PRIDE with us!

Join us for music, drag, circus acts, children’s activities, and more on Sunday, June 16th, from 11-4pm by the Waltham Common bandstand. Various LGBT and social organizations will have tables on the common as well! NOTE: This is also Father’s Day, and the day after Waltham River Fest.

  • Wear something FESTIVE! This is PRIDE after all - go wild! (but keep it family friendly 🙂)

  • Bring cash to tip the musicians & drag performers (in mixed denominations)

  • Be respectful to other attendees and remember we all have different lived experiences!

11:00AM - 12:00PM hour

  • Join us for an all-ages, Pride themed storytime in front of the Gazebo.

  • Are you ready to dance? Jen Williams (she/her) and friends will get your blood pumping by leading an energetic Zumba session. Open to people of all ages!

  • Join us for welcoming remarks for Waltham Pride 2024!

  • Jessica (she/her) is a poet and steampunk and historical fiction author who writes about modern issues while maintaining historic integrity. She makes her home in Waltham, where she is currently reading from a blissfully unending To Be Read pile. Her latest work, Triangle House, is a lesbian historical fiction novella set in the 1850s at the edge of the American frontier.

  • Jamie Wire (she/they) is the new Director of the Gender and Sexuality Center at Brandeis University. Her professional career has included overseeing the Queer & Trans Resource & Advocacy Center at Roger Williams University, serving as a research team member examining the impact of an intercultural education program for pre-service teachers, and they were a public high school special education teacher in North Carolina. She holds a Master's in Higher Education, a Master's in Liberal Studies, and Bachelors in Criminology and has a passion for using education to advance social justice.

12:00PM - 1:00PM

  • Ky (she/her) grew up as a competitive dancer, from hip hop to tap, she fell in love with movement and performance arts. In 2017, Ky discovered the world of circus arts and she trained as an aerialist for 6 years, learning from the best aerial arts studios in MA. Her specialities include aerial hoop, aerial sling and dance. She is currently a coach at Esh Circus Arts, her goals as a coach, is to teach her students to feel comfortable in their bodies as they express themselves authentically in the air. Her goals as a performance artist is to continue to perform in spaces that allows her to express herself freely through music and movement.

  • RAKKet is an LGBT+ barbershop quartet started in 2024 with members from Waltham and beyond.

  • The Waltham High School Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) aims to provide a safe space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. This year they have largely acted as a safe social space for students. As one of the WHS student unions, they are a member of the Revolutionary Equity Council (REC), so they have many events in addition to their weekly meetings, such as hosting the Day of Silence and attending Woburn High School's annual Community Gala.

  • Making their Waltham Pride debut, Mara Morales (she, her) is a singer and Waltham High School student who loves to perform.

1:00PM - 2:00PM

  • Explore the lives and experiences of residents of Waltham, MA through true stories told in the first person. Enjoy three thoughtful stories by your neighbors.

  • Christine Moad (they/them), performing under the moniker Miss Christine, is a bassist and singer-songwriter who blends indie rock with blues, soul and a defiant punk attitude. Their exploration of their own genderqueer identity inspires their lyrics, resulting in songs that are both intensely personal while simultaneously challenging the harmful stereotypes and expectations associated with gender and sexuality. Miss Christine released their debut solo album, Conversion, in 2019 and follow-up, Bittersweet, in June 2023.

2:00PM - 3:00PM

  • Back by popular demand! Waltham native Katie Gullotti (she/her) returns for her third year, singing a selection of uplifting and beautiful tunes.

  • Evan Greer (she/her) is a trans and queer activist, writer, and musician based in Boston. She's the director of digital rights group Fight for the Future and writes regularly about the intersection of tech policy and human rights for the Washington Post, Time, NBC News, Wired, and CNN. Her last album Spotify is Surveillance was released by Don Giovanni Records and Get Better Records and featured by NPR, Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. While Greer is perhaps best known for her work as an organizer, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine calls her a "heck of a guitar player," and her recordings have evolved from riot-folk roots to a more layered indie pop sound, with an anarcho-punk soul. Over the years she's shared stages and collaborated with Pete Seeger, Talib Kweli, Against Me!, Ted Leo, Speedy Ortiz, Anjimile, The Blow, Eve 6, Chumbawamba, Ezra Furman, Immortal Technique, Amanda Palmer, and Billy Bragg.

  • Bring your singles! Pretty boy, transmasc drag king, MT Hart (he/they), will be making their Waltham Pride debut! MT hosts the Boston Drag Gauntlet and MT’s Drag Stroll at Jacques’ Cabaret in Boston.

  • Bring your singles! Back by popular demand! Missy Steak (she/they) is a Boston drag queen with a penchant and a passion for comedy/culture/and listing things in threes. She’ll make ya laugh, she’ll make ya cry, and she’ll do it all for cheap.

Are you interested in tabling or performing NEXT YEAR?

Applications will open in February 2025 for the June 2025 event. Check back on our main page for more information at that time. We will create a Vendor FAQ and publish a submission form. There will be a nominal fee to participate for all for-profit organizations. Non-profit organizations (legally or otherwise) and community organizations will never be charged a participation fee.
